Survey of Musical Theatre

This unique course introduces students to a broad social history of musical theatre through the lens of the television show, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Each episode of the TV show is paired with the shows, personalities, and performance components of Broadway shows. This course is currently offered at Texas Christian University and consistently has 200-300 students per semester and is designed for students who have a wide range of familiarity with musical theatre.

Acting I

This course lets students (typically non-performance majors) explore the basics of ensemble building, various acting techniques, acting vocabulary, monologues, scene work, and script analysis.

Musical Theatre Dance

This class is taught at various levels and introduces each section to original Broadway choreography appropriate to their skills. Students learn about legendary Broadway choreographers and styles.

MT Workshop

This course is designed to assist non-Musical Theatre emphasis students in expanding and honing their musical theatre performance and audition skills.

Professional Seminar

What do you need to know before you graduate? This class helps upperclassmen performance majors hone in on their essence, become financially literate, build an effective website, and more.
